For Indaiatuba, it was a year of moderate success, some targets were met and some weren’t.
The main career target for our young sprinter, Hadley Childers, is to win the SC of the 3 “grand tours”, Germany, Porto, and Norway. He achieved a perfect start to that goal this season by winning the Norway Tour SC in his first ever stage race. With top form he comfortably won 3 out of the 4 sprint stages, coming 2nd in the other. Shortly after, he managed some results in the Rotterdam Classic, Grasse-Toulon, and in stages of the Perm Tour before disappearing into a bunker to recharge his top form and prepare for step 2 of his goal: season 52’s Volta ao Porto.
The team was unable to race competitively for the first 35 days of the season to ensure we were in division 3 for the Norway tour. And considering Childers’ last race was day 56, he only raced for about 25% of the season, scoring 560 points in that time. He’ll be much more active next season, so we’re excited to see how high we can climb.
No other rider truly stood out as a captain this season. Rubert Smidt recharged his top form, either for the VCK Classic or the Don Cup. In the end, due to multiple injuries, our VCK Classic team was very weak, so we decided to use the top form for the cup. Smidt didn’t manage to improve on last season’s podium, as he had a poor final stage, finishing 5th overall. All he needed to finish 2nd was a top 10 on the final stage, but he missed out. He still has top form, so will be looking to score early next season.
Alvin Hannibal had a strong season at age 35. He managed some results of his own and was present as a domestique in almost every race that we scored points in. Mark Turnbow’s career seems to be slowing down as he settles into a teammate role. A number of teammates are hitting 35 or over so the next seasons will be about replacement. We have a few Brazilian youngsters being trained up, and the older riders still seem able to do a good job as helpers.
Our goal for next season is to win the SC in Porto and then push to score as many points as possible so establish ourselves in division 1, while spending money to improve the team where necessary. We’re right on the edge of divisons 2 and 3 though, so we need some points in the first week to be able to enter the Porto tour.

Hope the team get to Div1 and fulfill all its objectives. Good Luck!
@Holwerda It depends who else signs up. There seems to be so many great sprinters in division 2 at the moment. But I won it with Abner a few seasons back and Childers is a better sprinter than him.
Good luck in Porto, curious where you will end up in the ranks.
Nice season, good luck with Childers next season!
